Dario Lupusella is President of Oben Build Inc. and a Partner at Oben Group, where he plays a key leadership role in shaping the firm’s construction strategy and execution across a growing portfolio of residential and healthcare developments. Since joining the company in 2014, Dario has helped transform Oben Build into a trusted construction partner known for delivering high-quality, design-forward projects with precision and integrity. With more than 18 years of experience in construction and project management, Dario brings a deep understanding of field operations, project planning, and risk management. He has overseen the delivery of complex multi-storey residential buildings, seniors’ housing, healthcare clinics, and mixed-use developments—helping drive Oben Build’s expansion into both the purpose-built rental and specialty medical sectors. His ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and align construction practices with client goals has made him a critical driver of the firm’s growth and reputation. Prior to joining Oben, Dario held progressively senior roles with large-scale construction and general contracting firms in Toronto. He holds a Mechanical Engineering Technician/Design Diploma from Humber College, has completed architecture courses at Toronto Metropolitan University, and is a Gold Seal Certified Project Manager through the Canadian Construction Association. He also holds certifications in construction management and health & safety representation.

Julian Battiston is the Co-Founder and CEO of Oben Group, where he sets the overall vision and strategic direction for the company. With a belief that real estate is as much about brand and user experience as it is about bricks and mortar, Julian plays a leading role in shaping the company’s design philosophy, marketing strategy, and long-term growth initiatives.

Under his leadership, Oben Group has become known for delivering design-forward residential communities across Toronto, with a growing presence in the purpose-built rental and specialty healthcare sectors. Julian brings a unique ability to align creative, operational, and financial priorities to drive innovation and deliver enduring value across the firm’s portfolio of development, construction, and property management services.
Julian began his career with hands-on experience in the field, which gave him a deep appreciation for the practical realities of construction and development. In 2013, he founded Oben Flats, a brand focused on design-led rental apartments. Over time, the business evolved to include construction and property management divisions – Oben Build and Oben PM – culminating in the formation of Oben Group. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto and currently serves on the Board of Governors at The Sterling Hall School.

Duncan Smith is a creative and strategic real estate developer and investor, playing a pivotal role in shaping the company’s investment strategy and managing complex projects. He is responsible for Oben’s Development and Investment functions, including development management, acquisitions, and capital fundraising. Duncan plays a critical role in scaling the company’s operations and ensuring project delivery excellence, and works closely with the Chief Executive Officer to set strategic priorities for the firm.

Prior to joining Oben, Duncan spent over a decade at a large builder-developer in Toronto, where he was instrumental in expanding the company’s diverse portfolio, which spanned condominiums, purpose-built rentals, seniors’ housing, student residences, and low-rise communities. Duncan is a trusted counterparty, working closely with institutional investors, financial partners, and industry stakeholders to identify and execute strategic acquisitions and investments. His expertise spans project design and feasibility, approvals, financial modeling, capital structuring, and deal negotiations, allowing him to effectively manage complex real estate projects.

Anthony Laud is a proven finance executive with over 20 years of experience driving financial performance, strategic planning, and capital growth across diverse industries. He has led corporate finance initiatives, including capital raising, M&A, cash flow optimization, and ERP implementation.

With deep expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and investor relations, Anthony has successfully managed multi-million-dollar financing, guided corporate restructurings, and implemented strategies to improve EBITDA and operational efficiency. He is highly proficient in financial modeling, strategic business planning, and regulatory compliance, with a proven record of helping organizations achieve sustainable growth and maximize stakeholder value.

Anthony began his career in accounting and progressively advanced through roles in financial planning, strategy, and executive leadership, bringing a unique combination of technical acumen, operational insight, and strategic vision to every project. He holds a B.Sc. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Birmingham, UK, and is a CIMA-certified (CMA, CPA) professional.

Andrea Pierre is an accomplished interior designer and creative leader with over 16 years of experience across healthcare, hospitality, residential, retail, and workplace design. Currently serving as Design Director at Oben Build, she leads the design strategy for multi-million-dollar healthcare developments, blending technical precision with hospitality-inspired warmth to create patient-centered and operationally efficient environments.

Andrea brings extensive expertise in design leadership, project delivery, space planning, and stakeholder collaboration. She has founded two boutique design studios – Westgrove and &Pierre – where she directed high-end residential, hospitality, and commercial projects, delivering innovative, brand-aligned interiors that elevate the client and end-user experience. She is skilled in budgeting, scheduling, value engineering, and integrating custom finishes, furniture, and lighting to enhance overall design narratives.

Andrea began her career leading design teams on large-scale hospitality and commercial projects, progressively advancing to founding her own design firms and now overseeing Oben Build’s growing portfolio. She holds a Bachelor of Interior Design from Toronto Metropolitan University and NCIDQ certification, and is affiliated with professional organizations including IDC and ARIDO.
